Croft House Grants Scheme (CHGS)

The Croft House Grant Scheme (CHGS) provides assistance for new croft houses and croft house improvements. The purpose of the Scheme is to improve and maintain the standards of crofting housing. Due to the nature of housing needs, the Scheme aims to benefit the younger, more active population to encourage them to remain and so help preserve these remote communities.

Please note that the Crofting Building Grants and Loans Scheme (CBGLS) closed to new applications on 31 Dec 2004, being replaced by the Croft House Grant Scheme (CHGS) from 1 Jan 2005.
