Cairngorms Awareness & Pride Project

Cairngorms National Park Authority
The Cairngorms Awareness and Pride project was piloted in 2007. It came about as a result of the success of the public benefit strand of the Land Based Business Training project. External evaluations of the LBBT project highlighted the fact that the public benefit courses were successful in engaging positively with land managers, and in giving land managers a better understanding of the Park's aims [link to Park aims], and to a certain degree, the skills to contribute to the delivery of these aims.
The project will deliver at least 20 courses to Park residents each year (2009 and 2010). Courses are relatively small with 20 being the maximum number of delegates. Ultimately, if the residents of the Park are well informed about various aspects of the Park, its aims, the Park Plan, the Park's biodiversity, cultural and natural heritage, they are well placed to pass this information on to visitors to the region, thereby enhancing the visitor's experience of the Cairngorms National Park.
